I created this blog to share my hair experiences with others and my family in the West Indies (Grenada and Trinidad). Its been almost three years and I'm loving my natural hair. I've had some ups and downs but it's all a part of the process! (Please do not copy my photos without my permission, but feel free to link to my blog)

WAS your retightening long because it was such a long time b/t sessions? June to Sept???maybe if you did the 3-4 wks it could go quicker. I love your locks!
Thanks for the comments ladies! This was actually my third retightening session about 4-5 weeks apart, and all three have lasted 12 hours. I really like my loctician but I'll have to start looking around for someone else who is quicker. I can't use any more leave from work and my weekends are tied up with school. I'll keep you posted on my search!
Give my locktitian a call: Iverline Hewitt. 240-643-3095. 12 hours for retightening sounds insane to me. Are your locks constantly slipping??? Does she charge by the hour?? My word!!
I have like 580 locks and I would say it would take about 4 hours.
Hello and welcome.
I did the re-tightening class in the UK in September. I did my hair in a week. That is doing a little every evening after work. I did a friends hair and it took me 7 hours. Not bad for a first attempt. I am going to Miami in November to do the consultants training. So excited.
12 hours is a loooong time for a retightnin. I didn't sit that long for my initial locking session. I noticed that you're in Maryland as I am. I go to a nice lady who does Sisterlocs out of her home in Silver Spring. She does my hair in about 2 hours. I don't know how many locs I have but our hair looks similar in length and texture. U can chk me out if u like. The consultants name is Claire Green and she's listed on the official Sisterlock site.
